Roadmap

This roadmap outlines the goals and targeted features for the Telegard/2 Project. A listing of feature requests and tracking is handled here: http://blueprints.launchpad.net/telegard. Developers and users can request new features by registering a blueprint. This page may not be as current as the Blueprints page, but is a brief overview of the goals/features to be attained for the first and second release of the software.

Goals for 1.0

• Fully functional BBS system incorporating:
  • Login & Registration System
  • Session/Time management
  • Private email system
  • File Area
  • Messages Area
  • Chat Rooms
  • BBS Listings
• Partially functional Administration system (web):
  • Database Backups/Snapshotting
  • User Management (enable/disable, add/delete/modify)
  • Configuration Managment
  • File & Message Area Administration
  • Who's Online tracking.

Goals for 2.0

• Implement BBS network support
  • FidoNET
  • WWIVnet (?)
• Design and implement TGnet
  • New protocol for interconnecting Telegard/2 BBS systems
• Completion of Administration system
• Improve all areas of Telegard/2
• Support for Plugins

Bug Fix Releases

After a 1.0 release, the 2.0 branch will be developed separately as a non-stable CURRENT code tree. The 1.0 branch will be maintained as is with only bugfixes and minor feature enhancement backported from 2.0.
